EBC Gokyo Trek – 18 days.

The Everest Base Camp Gokyo Trek is one of the most challenging and rewarding journeys in the Everest region. This adventure takes you through the stunning Gokyo Lakes, across the Chola Pass (5,420m), and finally to Everest Base Camp (5,364m). It’s a trek filled with breathtaking landscapes, rich Sherpa culture, and unforgettable mountain views.

The trek begins with a scenic flight to Lukla, offering spectacular views of the Himalayas. From Lukla, you’ll follow the Dudh Koshi River through lush rhododendron, pine, and magnolia forests. After a few days of trekking, you’ll arrive at Namche Bazaar (3,440m), the heart of Sherpa culture. Here, you’ll spend an extra day acclimatizing and exploring local attractions.

Leaving Namche, the trail leads to Phortse Tanga and Machhermo, passing through traditional Sherpa villages before reaching Gokyo Lakes. At Gokyo Ri (5,369m), you’ll witness panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Cho Oyo, Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, and Ama Dablam.

The next challenge is crossing the Chola Pass (5,420m), a high-altitude pass that leads to Dzongla and further to Gorakshep and Kala Patthar (5,545m). From Kala Patthar, you’ll enjoy an unparalleled close-up view of Mt. Everest before trekking to Everest Base Camp.

On the way back, you’ll follow a different route through Pangboche and Namche Bazaar, enjoying more incredible mountain views before reaching Lukla. The trek concludes with a flight back to Kathmandu, marking the end of this extraordinary journey.

The journey begins with a scenic flight to Lukla, followed by a trek through lush forests, suspension bridges, and charming Sherpa villages. After acclimatizing at Namche Bazaar, you’ll continue towards the turquoise Gokyo Lakes, where the climb to Gokyo Ri (5,369m) rewards you with breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Cho Oyo, Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse, and more.

Crossing the challenging Chola Pass, you’ll reach Dzongla, Gorakshep, and Kala Patthar (5,545m) for a magnificent close-up view of Everest. The final highlight is reaching Everest Base Camp, where climbers prepare for their summit attempts.

The return journey takes you through Pangboche and Namche Bazaar, offering more stunning mountain scenery before flying back to Kathmandu.

Welcome to Nepal! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. You can rest and explore the city at your own pace.

After breakfast, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. In the evening, there will be a trek briefing and preparation.

A thrilling flight to Lukla marks the start of your trek. From here, you’ll trek through lush forests and small villages before reaching Phakding, a peaceful settlement along the Dudh Koshi River.
Today’s trail takes you across suspension bridges and through pine forests before reaching Namche Bazaar, the bustling gateway to Everest. Enjoy your first glimpse of Mt. Everest along the way.

Spend a rest day in Namche Bazaar to adjust to the altitude. You can explore the Everest View Hotel, visit the Sherpa Museum, or hike to Khumjung Village.

Leaving Namche, the trail climbs gradually through rhododendron forests with stunning views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Everest before reaching Dole, a peaceful village in the high Himalayas.

A short yet scenic trek leads to Machhermo, passing yak pastures and small settlements. You’ll have stunning mountain views throughout the day.

Today, you’ll reach Gokyo, home to the beautiful Gokyo Lakes. The turquoise lakes, surrounded by the towering Himalayas, create a breathtaking landscape.

Take a rest day in Gokyo. You can either relax or explore the surrounding lakes and Ngazumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal.

An early morning hike to Gokyo Ri rewards you with panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and other peaks. After enjoying the view, descend to Thagnag.

One of the toughest days of the trek! You’ll cross the challenging Chola Pass, walking over steep, icy terrain. After the pass, descend to Dzongla.
A relatively short trek takes you to Lobuche, where you can rest and prepare for the Everest Base Camp journey ahead.
Today is the highlight of the trek! First, you’ll reach Gorakshep, the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. After lunch, continue to Everest Base Camp, where climbers prepare for their summit attempts. After celebrating this incredible moment, return to Gorakshep for the night.
Wake up early to hike Kala Patthar, the best viewpoint of Everest. Enjoy breathtaking sunrise views over Everest and surrounding peaks. Then, descend to Pheriche for an easier night’s rest.
Passing through Pangboche, Tengboche, and the famous Tengboche Monastery, you’ll return to Namche Bazaar.
Your final trekking day! Retrace your steps through beautiful forests and villages before arriving in Lukla. Celebrate your achievement with your trekking team.
Enjoy a scenic morning flight back to Kathmandu. Spend the day relaxing or shopping for souvenirs.
After an unforgettable adventure, it’s time to say goodbye. Our team will drop you at the airport for your flight home.
