Amphu Lapcha Pass Trek – 17 Days

The Amphu Lapcha Pass Trek is a thrilling and remote expedition that combines adventure, solitude, and breathtaking Himalayan scenery. This trek is designed for experienced adventurers seeking a route less traveled, offering a unique chance to explore both the Hinku Valley a wild and unspoiled region home to Mera Peak, and the legendary Khumbu region, gateway to Mount Everest.
The highlight of the journey is the crossing of Amphu Lapcha Pass (5,845m), one of Nepal’s highest and most technical passes, surrounded by towering ice walls and sweeping glacier fields. The trail winds through diverse ecosystems, from lush rhododendron forests to arid alpine zones, offering incredible views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Baruntse, and more.
Along the way, trekkers encounter traditional Sherpa culture, peaceful high-altitude monasteries, and wildlife like Himalayan thar and snow pigeons. Due to its difficulty and remote nature, this trek requires proper mountaineering equipment, prior acclimatization, and the support of an experienced guide. It’s perfect for those looking to combine a technical challenge with raw natural beauty, making it one of the most rewarding and unforgettable trekking experiences in Nepal.
Highlights include crossing Zatrawala Pass, visiting the pristine Hinku Valley, climbing up to Mera La, and navigating the glaciated Amphu Lapcha Pass. You’ll explore quiet Sherpa villages and monasteries before entering the iconic Everest region.
