Annapurna Three High Pass Trek

The Annapurna Three High Pass Trek is an ambitious 24-day adventure connecting the Annapurna foothills, Nar-Phu Valley, Tilicho Lake, and Mustang through three high passes: Namun La (5,560 m), Kang La (5,306 m), and Mesokanto La (5,330 m). Ideal for experienced trekkers seeking remote landscapes, rich Himalayan culture, and breathtaking panoramas. The route traverses lush foothills, alpine ridges, and arid plateaus, visiting remote villages of Nar & Phu and traditional Gurung, Thakali, and Tibetan Buddhist communities. Highlights include Tilicho Lake, the Nar-Phu valleys, panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and a true sense of wilderness far from typical tourist trails. Best times to trek are Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September–November), when the weather is stable, visibility is clear, and landscapes are vibrant.

From breathtaking mountain scenery to rich local culture, this trek offers a complete Himalayan experience.

Your journey begins in Kathmandu, Nepal’s vibrant capital, where the adventure officially kicks off. From Kathmandu, you’ll drive to Sikles Village via Pokhara, the city of lakes. The trek gradually moves northwest through lush forests and serene landscapes until you reach Forest Camp (Dharamsala). Here, you’ll take your first acclimatization day, as the trek begins to ascend to higher altitudes.

The trek continues to Boksi Taal and then to Namun La Base Camp, where the first real challenge awaits: crossing the Namun La Pass. After this exhilarating high-altitude trek, you’ll descend to Namun Phedi and continue to Koto Villagealong the scenic Marsyangdi River Valley. After a short excursion in Koto, the journey proceeds to Meta Village and Kyang Village.

From Kyang, you’ll enter the remote and restricted Phu Village, a unique and culturally rich area. After exploring Phu, you’ll trek back to Kyang and continue to Nar Village, another secluded settlement offering authentic Himalayan life. The second major challenge, Kang La Pass, awaits as you trek toward Ngawal.

Following the high pass adventure, the trail leads to Manang Village, where you can explore the Gangapurna Glacierand the historic Tare Gompa Monastery. Next comes an uphill trek to Tilicho Base Camp, before reaching the stunning Tilicho Lake, the world’s highest-altitude lake. From here, you’ll ascend to Tilicho High Camp and prepare to cross the Mesokanto La Pass, the third and final high pass of this epic journey, descending towards Chauri Kharka.

The trek concludes with a rewarding journey to Jomsom, from where you’ll take a scenic flight back to Pokhara and finally drive back to Kathmandu, carrying memories of an unforgettable Himalayan adventure.
